KTH has a firm background in integrated resource assessment, with one of the key research area focusing on Climate, Land-use, Energy and Water strategies (CLEWs). Past and ongoing case studies span across a national, regional and global focus; including: i) Integrated assessments of the interlinkages between water, land‐use and energy under climate change induced rainfall reductions, highlighting the links between water and hydropower production in Africa, developing a global food, energy and water model that takes trade into account as well as other constraining resources (e.g. minerals and materials), developing a Water-Energy-Land-Ecosystems nexus analysis in a number of transboundary basins and applying integrated CLEWs assessments to urban planning, from developed cities to growing slums.
