SIM4NEXUS QUALIFIES THE WATER-ENERGY-LAND-FOOD AND CLIMATE NEXUS FOR RESOURCE EFFICIENCY
SIM4NEXUS searched for new scientific evidence on sustainable and integrated management of resources (water, land, energy and food) in Europe and elsewhere, and adopted the Nexus concept in testing pathways for a resource-efficient and low-carbon Europe.
SIM4NEXUS aims to address knowledge and technology gaps and
thereby facilitate the design of policies within the Nexus.
The project will deliver a Serious Game, a cloud-based, integrated tool
for testing and evaluating policy decisions.
SIM4NEXUS applied the Nexus concept in 12 case studies, implemented at different scales: regional, national, transboundary, European and global. The diversity of case studies allowed to better understand interlinkages of decision making across spatial scales, and support decision making in the short-, medium- and long-term (up to 2030, 2050 and beyond).
