The Baltic Environmental Forum-Latvia (BEF-Latvia) is a non-governmental organisation aiming at strengthening environmental protection by developing co-operation and dialogue between various stakeholders and by increasing their capacities in implementation of environmental management. The BEF-Latvia’s central activities foster implementation of the EU environmental policy in the Baltic Sea region. The organisation’s primary fields of focus consist of: sustainable development of urban and rural areas, including sustainable use of resources; climate change mitigation and adaptation; and sustainable consumption patterns. The BEF-Latvia is a facilitator and networking organisation that seeks to build stakeholder capacity for better environmental protection.
